Guys, we are still looking into the list of treasures taken from Neverland during that notable surprise visit of 70 policemen to Michael’s home. While Michael was in Las Vegas preparing his new album the police seized a whole truckload of priceless ‘evidence’ which included the books we are discussing here.

The police list seems to be never-ending and with two posts behind us we are only half through (now I wish I had never started it):

Item 316. The police officer describes is as RINEKE DIJKSTRA BEACH PORTRAITS, by Carol Ehlere and James Rondeau which is “a compilation of photographs, which depicted children with a beach background. The children were clothed in swimwear and/or undergarments. Nothing within this book appeared to be pornographic or illegal in nature. Based on my training, this type of material can be used as part of a “grooming” process by which people (those seeking to molest children) are able to lower the inhibitions of their intended victims and facilitate the molestation of said victims.”

The customer on the other hand calls the same book a wonderful insight into a truly gifted photographer.

• “Rineke Dijkstra has a gift for capturing the underlying humanity in her portrait subjects with a simplicity and innocence that is rare even among top photographers. Beach Portraits shows a sample of this skill in a series of photographs that, at first glance, are composed in a very straightforward manner; the nuance of her composition lies in the elevation of the camera to capture the portrait: mostly at belly button height. This lends a sense of power to the subject without making the subject overpowering; the subtlety of the effect brings balance to the overall image between innocence and being somewhat self-possessed.
  
• Highly recommended for the serious student of photography”.

The police officer making this review must be having a very vivid imagination – how can a photograph like the above be used for “grooming” our dear boy Gavin Arivizo? I can imagine what effort it should take to make him look at that photograph at all – let alone molest him with its help…

The next book reviewed by the police was Item 359 titled “POO-chi” by Mayumi Lake. The police officer says about it, “This book was a compilation of photographs in which armpits were photographed in such a manner as to make the picture seem like it depicts the female vaginal area. None of the material within this book appeared to be pornographic in nature. Based on my training this type of material can be used…” (the same crap as before).

This POO-Chi gave me a really hard time. What can a book with a cover like that say to anyone? A follow-up investigation brought me to the website of the author, a young and naughty female Japanese photographer who devised a new kind of art. The reader says about her:

• “Poo-Chi” is a word coined by the artist for a particular part of the adult body that she transforms into something provocative. Only through closer and careful inspection, does the viewer reach a realization that all he or she sees is an illusion.”

The girl is really naughty but the photographs are inventive and quite amusing – and I can understand why Michael didn’t throw the book away even if someone presented it to him…

The next item reviewed by the police officer is a manila folder containing releases from MJJ Productions with images of children to be used in Michael’s videos. A long list of names ensues (please allow me to omit them as they are too long to type – anyway each of the children was surely interrogated by the police).

Next comes “The Before the Hand of Man” book by Roy Dean again (see part 2 for its description), followed by the book titled “BOB and ROD” by author Tom Bianchi.

The police say about it:” This book was a compliation of photographs of two adult males, who for the most part, were pictured in full and/or partial nudity. The males were not depicted in sexually explicit poses. The cover of the book indicated the book was a photo-documentation of the romance between the two pictured subjects”.

In short the book is about two gays and is evidently the one to which the hater holidaying in our site referred to in her initial message.

Yes, the book is about two gays, so what? It does not mean that anyone possessing it has anything to do with what is written there, neither does it mean that it has any bearing on molestation charges. Have you by the way seen the Oscar-winning film called Brokeback Mountain (2005) which is a story of two young men who also developed an affection for each other? WHAT? You not only saw it but even have it in your video library? Then what are we talking about here?

The next two items Room to Play and Naked as a Jay Byrd have already been discussed in the first part of our “porn” thread (why are these titles repeated again and again – doesn’t the police officer remember he has reviewed them already?)

You have probably noticed that I am talking only about those pieces of ‘evidence’ which are NOT known to the reader and which may look absolutely appalling to him if he listens to the police lamentations of their “grooming possibilities”. No one will be patient enough to look into what stands behind those titles as the list is really long –  so please let me omit things like Hustler videos from the “BARELY LEGAL” series as you can probably imagine what they are like yourselves, okay?

Our next item is a big number of  NUDIST PERIODICALS, all of them dated 1935-38 – see the full list presented to court http://www.sbscpublicaccess.org/docs/ctdocs/041905minuteorder.pdf).

This item is described by the police as “the official publication of International Nudist Conference. There were 19 copies of “Nudist, Sunshine and Health”. The periodicals contained nude photographs of men, women and children as well as writings pertaining to nudism. The photographs and writings did not appear to be pornographic in nature”.

Everything about this collective ‘item’ made me curious. The fact that the periodicals were that old (1935-1938) and that some of them were copies for the full year told me that it was a sort of a rarity, a collection representing something more than just nude pictures.

Our Visitor (thanks!) told me that Karen Faye, Michael Jackson’s long time make-up artist, was a nudist and could have introduced Michael to her hobby. The fact that the periodicals were called “Sunshine and Health” also added to the interest, as I knew that Michael had vitiligo and lupus both of which never allow a person to stay in the sun.

So I had a closer look and was absolutely carried away…. I marvelled at the pictures and the nudist style of life and went as far as reading some of the nudists’ entries in their forum. A curious thing I learned about those old nudist periodicals was that up to the 50s the pictures they contained were censored with the crucial parts being sealed by pieces of paper or brushed out.

Those magazines were definitely NOT sexual or pornographic in any way (and that is why couldn’t be used for any ‘grooming’) – they were UN-sexual and aiming at a healthy way of living in harmony with the nature. This is what nudist veterans say about nudism and those periodicals:

“I’m old enough to remember nudist magazines back in the ’50’s. In the photos, crucial parts were all air brushed out so the people looked rather weird.”

“As I am from the UK, the magazine available here was ‘Health and Efficiency’, which also had a lot of careful brushing. The present day version of that magazine has some unfortunate adverts and some doubtful material, so I do not feel free to subscribe.”

“What bothered me most is the inconsistencies of the “rulers” of the nudist movemnet back then…They talk about being natural in a natural enviroment, yet refuse to acknowledge that sex had anything to do with it…I remember a friend told me that he was in a”colony” one time and once you reach the teen years, you were pretty much treated badly….couples…mature or teen were not allowed to hold hands…and you better never had an erection…or you were out for ever...”

“I, too, recall early magazines and publications. I agree that the presentation left much to be desired, yet in consideration of the social tabos of the time, they were well put together. Even the ones I have from the early 80’s are archaic in comparison to publications of today.”

“Like many other seniors, I got the “nudist bug” from magazines of the 1960’s. There are plenty of photos of women and families, and lots of pubic hair, but not a single penis in the entire 59 pages. And in two photos where they obviously should have been, the photos were rather unskillfully retouched to get them out”.

“As a young high school boy, I wasn’t aware that there was such thing as a nudist, until a friend showed me and my friends a nudist magazine he had found. I was impressed that the people pictured were simply enjoying the freedom of being unclothed. That was over 40 years ago, and the love affair goes on”.

“Ed Lange — one of the founding advocates of the Nudist/Naturalist movement — was a revered and highly acclaimed photographer; many of the Sunshine & Health covers were taken by him, including many pictures throughout every issue. Due to the extreme rarity of this publication and its naturist content, copies of the magazines can command prices of several hundred dollars each or more to the true collector”.

“The founding ethos of nudism was health. … Sunlight, along with fresh air and exercise, were the Holy Trinity of a veritable religion of physical culture which emerged around the turn of the twentieth century, whose cathedral was the Great Outdoors. … The metaphor of sun-worship is not inappropriate, giving the high-flown religiosity associated with this ‘gospel’ of the healthy body. This also encouraged the belief that nudists were a bunch of sandal-wearing, vegetarian, tee-total cranks. Certainly a far cry from the image of Coco Chanel on her yacht”.

Interesting, isn’t it? “Back to the nature” principle, a simple and easy way of life and a body with clear, suntanned and healthy skin which Michael never had? If it was so interesting to me I can imagine how very interesting the collection must have been to Michael, no matter which way he came to possess it – as a present from Karen Faye or as a rarity bought in some antique shop.

P.S. Guys, I would love to finish it today but I can’t – there are several more books left. What a cross this list is …
