NBC Universal rewards Murray for killing Michael Jackson. TIME TO STOP THEM

After the small measure of justice won today, the exploitation of Michael Jackson for profit and ratings continues.
By appearing in a documentary that will undoubtedly seek to portray Conrad Murray as a ‘sympathetic’ victim of circumstance, Murray and his defense team who may well be planning an appeal – will now attempt to negate the fact of the Guilty verdict in real terms.
It is beyond repellent that a previously well-regarded organization like NBC Universal would now seek to reward a proven criminal for killing another human being. In the aftermath of the Conrad Murray verdict, The Hollywood Reporter today provided details ofMurray’s documentary, “Michael Jackson and the Doctor—A Fatal Friendship.”
This documentary is already in the can and scheduled to air this week, starting Tuesday morning with a preview on NBC’s Today Show. The Michael Jackson fan community and supporters MUST mobilize to obstruct this atrocity—just as we did the Discovery Channel autopsy documentary.
We succeeded then and we can succeed now.
However, this time we don’t have much time. The documentary is scheduled to air in full this coming Friday, November 11 on MSNBC and will repeat Sunday, November 13 on that same cable network.
This is a call to all fans and advocates to utilize every mode of communication possible—call, write, fax, tweet— express your outrage at this obscenity.
With so little time, our approaches to obstruct this documentary are limited.
All fans who are willing to take the time and make the effort should write letters and mail/fax them to:
Commit to not watch the program and persuade everyone around you to do same.
We don’t have time to contact the sponsors of this program. Besides, that would necessitate actually watching the program, which we do not want to do. This is just a start, but we’ve got to start today, Tuesday, November 8.
All fans should feel absolutely free to complain DIRECTLY to the perpetrators of this perversion. Here are just some of the words that describe this documentary and the motives of its makers:

Mona, don´t worry too much about the Murray documentary. It turned against him in the trial. He is ridiculous, lies through his teeth,and put his foot in his mouth. He tries to make it impressive and theatrical and displays emotions both sentimental and angry, all for effect, but it comes out even more ridiculous and false. Haters will of course swallow everything, there is not much to do about that.They believe what they believe not because of truth,but because of what is in themselves.
It is a shame that a TV station shows such garbage though.For ratings ofcourse.I saw it on an anti MJ blog.It is a joke at best.

In my country they are only going to air the documentary on Discovery Channel tomorrow for the first time. They have been going wild advertising it for the past 1 month or even more, with every commercial break. It turned my stomach to hear that psychopath declare himself Michael’s only friend. Doesn’t he know friendship is all about love, not money? Friendships don’t end up in murder!! Makes me so angry! The man is a killer, why do they give him the right to lie to the world again, on TV, after he waved that right in court?
Anyway, I was going to watch it, but after reading the article and your comments I changed my mind, there’s no point in poisoning myself even more with that so-called doctor and his lies.

Yes he does inspire anger. I know that he should have gotten more time and it is unfortunate that the law has been changed. He is just the first one to be sentenced under the new law. I for one will settle for never practicing medicine again. I hope they add that to his parole. No one needs to be concerned about his patients someone will move into the practice and take care of them. He should have seen to it already if he was a good doctor. There are a lot of doctors willing to work in those areas he just needs to find one. It was not a completely free clinic he was being compensated through medicare or medicaid. He is eligible for bail on appeal but my thought is that since it would go to Judge Pastor to grant it I seriously doubt it. I see that the family has withdrawn restitution but I still think he should have to pay some of the county court costs.Just because the family has declined to ask for victims restitution does not mean he doesn’t have to pay some.

Why would he deserve bail while awaiting appeal for his conviction?. I hope appeals court would up the charge if that is possibe. They should also hurry up to sterilize him that he does nor sire yet more babies.

Sometimes the best thing to do is give a person enough rope to hang themselves — Murray’s documentary is a great example of that. He totally incriminates himself and proves that he was incompetent and irresponsible. I watched the UK version on youtube. The only difference between the U.K. and the U.S., is the u.s. puts in a tabloidish commentary by Murray about how Michael kept his room dirty and he had to have it cleaned and claims Michael was so psychologically traumatized he still wet the bed.
Funny that LMP never mentioned that.

As I said I would be watching it in the event that a rebuttal is called for.It is not! He makes an utter fool of himself.It actually comes across as quite hilarious.The worst thing that they can prove about Michael is he had bad toenails and kept a very messy room.Who cares.I didn’t have to pick up after him.
I know that it was anticipated that he would blame Michael for what he did to him but it doesn’t really have any effect now the jury is in and he is guilty so in retrospect what he says can be so clearly seen as a big fat lie.
I think some of the conflicitng information that he gives when compared to testimony is a riot.Murray did not do himself any favors in this documentary as a matter of fact he does himself in with it. He comes across in most of it as beyond arrogant.
I will do a synposis of it but only if others want to hear it for comic relief, because it has upset the fan community so much. I think it was the idea that he was getting paid under the table so to speak that upset most of them.After all the upset it is just Murray being Murray which we knew was going to be self serving anyway.Just a little hint though you will love what he says about Dr.Steinberg and his own lawyers and what they say and do to him.

I have seen a spippet or a few of the murray interview for the TV program, It will not be broadcast here.Though it should not be watched, somebody please provide the main points murray is attempting to make,ie he stated that giving it in someones bedroom is not contraindicated!Well it is not forbidden to light a match at home,but if you have drenched the place with gasoline first? Why are his words in the police statement treated as some absolute truth? He is a most adept liar. I want to know how come Michael was infused with over 2000 mgs of propofol on 6/25 2009.
This is from Dr. Shafers testimony. A scientist of the highest caliber, editor for Journal of Anestesia and Analgesia, writer of books and numerous articles and also a practioner of anestesia.- And it was not that easy to find somebody like murray. And he knew he was to do something unothodox for that amount of money.
Not that other doctors hadn´t stepped off the narrow path, but it was murray who killed him. He was given a legal platform to talk in court,Said he will think about it a couple of days, BS, just to tease the jurors.
– BTW Dr.Shafer stated that Michael was most likely unconsious when the propofol level hit the point which caused apnea and within c. 10 min. his heart stopped beating. Don´t take a word from murray as truth. That is why he kept silent in court.

@Teva,Yes it does seem that a ratings hungry media just will not ever let go of Michael Jackson.I think that the Estate should look into charging for anything broadcast with his name attached to it.His name, his likeness and his voice were Michael’s marketable product and therefore should not be used by a media outlet unless it is approved by them.I know that is sounds trivial but with that recording of Michael’s voice in the documentary I would have thought they needed permission to use it. Michael never signed anything over to Murray that he could incidently/accidentally/surreptitiously record and use that recording for his own financial gain did he.If so where is that contract?The reason that I say that is because I understand there may be more to that recording than what was played in court and if so that would be first broadcast rights to the additional part of the recording.
As for Oxman working with Murray’s attorney all I can say is what strange bedfellows that man choses.All while propagating the eternal untruth of addiction in pursuit of money for papa Joe.I’m sorry but that man has never had his son’s best interest at heart.If he did he would step aside and let Katherine and the children have their lawsuit.

Brian Oxman is an idiot of an attorney and anything he is involved in is a disaster before it starts. So they want to sue others doctors for what exactly….enabling? The last time I did a lap around the fan community the consensus was that Michael was not an addict, so it will interesting how these two roads meet. Oxman during the trial when the first clip of the slurred speech was played said to JVM that it was Murray who was helping Michael and found him in that state, not caused it. Really?!! Somethings you just can’t make up.
In the end there will be something for everyone. The family & fans will expose the people they believe led Michael to an early grave – namely doctors, promoters etc. Plus the media will get their tawdry soundbites because civil suits have far wider latitues than criminal cases. MJ most definetely will be disparaged more as their lawyers defend their clients. As it is I already know more than I ought to about Michael Jackson. I wonder if in the end all we won’t know is who is Blanket’s mother.

So Murray and his legal team think that he could and should return to medicine within a year?Personally I hope they do delve into the culpability of other doctors so they show even more who was responsible for Michael’s death.That action could only prove Murray even more guilty.I don’t think that any of the other doctors lawyers are afraid of that veiled public threat.

Murray has said goodbye to his medical licence for good, The doctor-patient confidentiality does not end because you kill your patient.
It would be nice to hear something from the medical boards in the states where he is licenced.And now that he was found guilty there is no reason for delay .With this documentary he is cementing the proof of his psychopathy.
Dr. Shafer was a witness pro bono and wanted to do this as he felt Murray and the worldwide attention of this case had sullied the whole medical profession.Don´t let his input be for naught.

When something is a total insult to human decency the fact that showing it is ‘not illegal’ does not mean a thing.
It is not illegal in accordance with today’s laws which may be amended any time tomorrow. But it is totally illegal in accordance with the ethical and moral laws on which life of all human beings is based.
And these people call themselves “civilized”. I mean not only Murray but all those who want this documentary to happen and make money on it.
Besides everything else it is extremely sad to see how low human beings have fallen.
Forget about MSNBC and all other channels which are going to show it. Let the makers of this disgrace be the only ones to watch it.
Do something different instead. Play with your children. Read a book to them. Go for a walk and bring in some fresh air into your life.

CLAAD is a national coalition dedicated to preventing prescription drug diversion, misuse, and abuse. Okunuga, EXACTLY! Now it is becoming clear why the prosecution used it at the trial – they snatched this sensation from Murray and at least presented it in the neutral light. They probably knew of Murray’s intentions – if the judge knew, so the prosecution should have known too, only neither of them could put a stop to it.
But Murray was making that tape on May 8th or 9th – so it was that early that he wanted to make a sensation and money out of it? This questions his motives from the very start.

Frankly, it seems that Murray does not need anyone to dictate things to him – he is very well capable of splashing mud on Michael on his own. It is enough to remember his interview with the police (and the tape made so very well in advance).
And as regards ‘dead people cannot sue” I don’t even understand why it should always be the fear of a suit – people should behave decently simply because they are supposed to have conscience.
There is also an old maxim saying “Speak no ill of the dead”. In many places it has the power of a moral law which the majority of people adhere to even in the absence of a formal law. The dead are defenseless and cannot speak for themselves – so telling lies about them is unforgivable in the eyes of the Heavens. If you have documents it is another thing as it is establishing the truth, but slandering someone with nothing to prove it? This is where this old maxim fully applies.

i’ve been racking my brain to understand the motives of conrad murray about this documentary, this are the scenerios i can come up with.firstly since it has been confirmed that it has taking roughly over two years to make this documentary i made bold to say those taped recording of michael that conrad made was supposed to be part of it if ADA walgren had not played it and made it part of evidence.Secondly i am also sure the producers and his attorneys were dictating to him about slandering michael as much as possible after all dead people can not sue.

Why is it that money cannot be tracked? Even if you get a modest gift ot a petty loan paid to your account IRS has the right to know your bank account. Are money matters so holy that they can not play a role,though they would clearly indicate who is involved in shady and perhaps illegal acivities?
Now it makes sense that Murray and the defence used any trick available to postpone the trial.This documentary smells of bloodmoney.I understand that technically it is not illegal,but it clearly shows murray´s colours and that he is no friend.The judge was aware of it.
Murray should get the 4 years so he can´t be up to more mischief.
It boggles my mind that now he will be giving his version of what happened on 6/25 2009. And worse, there are people who will believe him.
He has a knack for telling tall stories.-If the money for the documentary goes to pay murrays debts to lawyers and other debts, are these not gifts to him? There is a gift tax or not?-He teased the public and jurors that he “will wait til thursday to decide if he will take the stand or not”.He never would!- Back to the postponements; It was stated that murray will give up his right for a speedy trial ?Now it is clear why he was so flexible re this right.
Somehow he has managed to hide the money,otherwise he would lose it in civil suits.Did I get it right that in addition to jailtime the juge can impose fines?The trial has indeed cost taxpayers lots of money.

Murray also says he felt that just three days before Jackson’s death, the singer was successfully weaned off of the surgical anesthetic propofol upon which he depended for sleep. When Guthrie questioned why he had left the singer in a situation where he might have a chance to inject himself with the drug, something that was suggested by Murray’s defense team, the doctor said “that was not a foreseeable situation.”
Guthrie also asked Murray why, when he felt he shouldn’t be giving Jackson propofol, he didn’t walk away from his $150,000 a month position as Jackson’s personal physician.
“I should have walked away,” Murray said. “But if also I walked away, I would have abandoned a friend.”

The verdict is in, the jury has been dismissed, and Dr. Conrad Murray sits behind bars, but one question about the trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor remains: Who paid for the defense?
Speculation about how the cash-strapped physician funded an expansive legal team focused Wednesday on a British documentary made with Murray’s cooperation and purchased recently by NBC for broadcast on its cable network MSNBC this weekend. Representatives of Jackson’s estate demanded the network cancel the program, entitled “Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship,” in part because of unanswered questions about whether Murray was compensated for giving filmmakers interviews and allowing camera crews to follow him and his lawyers.
“We would like to know how much money in total was paid for this privileged ‘access,’ ” estate co-executors John Branca and John McClain wrote in a letter Wednesday to executives at NBC, MSNBC and its parent company, Comcast. “It doesn’t matter to us if it was a production company, Comcast, NBC Universal or MSNBC that paid for access to Dr. Murray because all are morally culpable.”

Murray was in debt close to $800,000 on the day Jackson died and his financial circumstances worsened in the months that followed as intense media coverage hurt his ability to earn money as a cardiologist. But after signing a deal with a British producer in 2009, he was able to assemble a defense team that included four attorneys, a jury consultant, a publicist, and a host of medical experts. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter Monday.
Those involved in the documentary refused to discuss details of the deal with Murray. They repeatedly reiterated a statement by October Films, the London-based production company, that it paid only a nominal $1 fee to Murray. Left unaddressed, though, were questions about whether the doctor received a portion of fees paid by television outlets in Britain, Australia and at least 10 other countries that will air the program.
The circumstances surrounding the documentary raise a host of thorny issues, including how carefully NBC investigated the provenance of a film that offered exclusive interviews and footage in a highly competitive news story, and whether the doctor violated a court-imposed gag order, even as he shielded from his own lawyers the extent of his cooperation with the filmmakers.
In the final days of his manslaughter trial, Murray sat for wide-ranging interviews about Jackson’s death with NBC and a British outlet as part of the documentary package those networks purchased. Murray’s criminal attorneys said they were never told of the interviews, given despite their warnings about “the dangers of talking about June 25th” — the day the singer died
“They just didn’t tell me because they know I’d freak out,” said lead defense attorney Ed Chernoff, who said he learned of the interviews the morning after the verdict when portions aired on NBC.
Murray, who decided not to take the stand in his own defense, is in jail pending sentencing later this month and could not be reached for comment.
All payments to Murray’s lawyers came directly from the doctor, not the filmmakers, Chernoff said. He acknowledged telling Murray shortly after they met that financial resources were crucial to a court case in which the prosecution seemed to have an unlimited budget for forensic experts and investigators.
“I told him early and I told him often that the only way he was going to be able to defend himself was to have money. He had to fund his case or he would never be able to defend himself,” Chernoff said.
At the time Murray’s Las Vegas home was in foreclosure. He was behind on child support and student loan payments. He owed money to credit companies and a medical equipment supplier. And because Jackson never signed his contract, Murray never received any of the $150,000-a month fee he was supposed to get as the singer’s personal physician.
Subsequently, Murray was approached by Leon Lecash, a British photographer turned entrepreneur whose ventures included a butler service that, according to one press report, “promises to solve any problem.” Lecash was among hundreds of outlets begging Murray for an interview, but according to the doctor’s former publicist, Miranda Sevcik, Lecash’s company – what’s it all about? productions – was the only one willing to delay broadcast until after a verdict.
“This was the only group that approached us that agreed to that caveat — until all litigation was complete,” Sevcik said.
Camera crews began trailing Murray to church, his charity clinic in Houston and meetings with his lawyers. Chernoff said he sought advice from the California State Bar before agreeing to be filmed. The doctor began providing him money, he said, but he never asked about the source.
“It wasn’t pertinent to what I was doing,” he said. Asked whether he assumed the money came from the documentary, Chernoff replied, “I can’t say that because I don’t know for sure.”
Others on Murray’s team said they agreed to be filmed, but purposefully avoided discussions about the documentary and Murray’s deal with producers.
“I specifically asked not to be involved in any of the financial aspects,” said defense publicist Mark Fierro.
Filming continued throughout the trial even after the judge issued a gag order barring lawyers from discussing the case outside of court.
In October, before the defense had even rested its case, the filmmakers began shopping the documentary to broadcast and cable networks. They wanted close to $500,000 for American rights, according to a source at a network that passed on the film, and were offering a sit-down interview with Murray. NBC bought the rights and began airing clips of Murray describing Jackson’s last moments on “The Today Show” the morning after the verdict. The documentary is set to air on MSNBC on Friday night and again Sunday.
NBC declined to say what it paid the filmmakers, but said in a statement, “Neither Dr. Murray nor his legal defense were compensated in any way.”
A network source added that October Films had assured NBC that no part of the licensing fee would make its way to the doctor or his lawyers. The network did not respond to follow-up questions, including whether it had asked if Murray was paid through Zodiak Rights, the British company handling international distribution.
Zodiak boasted in a news release the day Murray was convicted that the company had presold the documentary in more than a dozen countries, but the company did not respond to questions about whether any of the money had been passed on to Murray.
When pressed about why the deeply indebted physician — who initially demanded $5 million a year to work for Jackson — would have granted camera crews access for only $1, a publicist for October Films replied, “You have to look at Zodiak. You would need to talk to Zodiak Rights about the international rights.”
Van Gordon Sauter, president of CBS News in the 1980s, said NBC’s payment to the production company effectively paved the way for the exclusive interview with Murray, a practice frowned on by most mainstream news organizations.
“I don’t know how you can look at that and not come to the conclusion that they were paying for the interview,” said Sauter, who worked as a journalism professor and public television executive after leaving CBS. He said that practice is disdained because it makes news organizations appear to be in alliance with newsmakers, potentially encouraging subjects to embellish their stories.
“This doesn’t strike me as something that’s appropriate,” Sauter said. “MSNBC is spending a lot of time talking [in promotions] about ‘Leaning forward,’ and I think this is tripping backward.”
There is a long history of media outlets paying newsmakers, even notorious ones, for access. The man accused of kidnapping the Lindbergh baby was defended by an acclaimed lawyer, with payments coming from the Hearst Newspapers in exchange for exclusive access to the defendant, Bruno Richard Hauptmann.
Testimony in a hearing last year revealed that ABC had paid $200,000 to Casey Anthony, accused of murdering her daughter Caylee. The money reportedly went to “license” the use of the Anthony family’s photos and videos and was available for Anthony’s defense. After a wave of bad publicity, ABC said it would in the future not make such payments, which a network spokesman called an unnecessary “crutch” to good news gathering.

CONRAD Murray spent thousands of dollars on lapdancers after landing a job from Michael Jackson, telling one girl he was milking the singer for everything he could.
Earning a staggering £93,000 a month simply to help the King of Pop get a good night’s sleep, Murray couldn’t believe his luck.
The married 58-year-old, a father of at least seven children from a string of mistresses, was the star’s personal physician, a job which would change his world forever.

The doctor’s life is now in tatters, his reputation ruined, but stripper Tanya Heller remembers a very different Murray.
Sipping champagne at Spearmint Rhino strip club in Las Vegas, he told Tanya he was a “big shot” doctor trusted by Jacko.
Tanya, 27, said: “He was so full of himself. He would come in two, three times a week and spent money like he was a movie star.
“He blurted out all kinds of private stuff he probably shouldn’t have.
“He told me he wanted to make as much money as possible out of the situation.
“He didn’t seem to care about him. He said some horrible things about him, that he was a weird freak, paranoid and reclusive.
“I thought he was very rude and ungrateful after getting such a job.”
Heart doctor Murray was hired by Jacko in May 2009 – nearly three years after they met – as the star prepared for 50 comeback shows.
But while living in LA he spent his nights roaming seedy strip joints getting drunk and looking for young women to charm.
During his six week trial Murray was painted as greedy, manipulative and criminally negligent. Prosecutors pointed to Murray’s complicated love life as the reason he was not giving the star his full attention when he administered propofol to him the day he died.
Murray was on the phone to cocktail waitress Sade Anding, 25, when he found Jacko in trouble and raised the alarm.
He was texting stripper Michelle Bella that morning and another woman, Bridgette Morgan, called about a plane ticket he said he was purchasing so she could visit him.
While he was seeing the three other women, the doctor was living with his 29-year-old lover Nicole Alvarez, also a stripper and the mother of one of his children.
Meanwhile, the out-of-control doc had let business interests slip and he was blighted by outstanding debts and tax demands.
He had filed for bankruptcy in 1992 and in 2002. Five tax bills were filed against him between 1993 and 2003, for sums of more than £27,000.
Three judgments were filed against Murray or his company in 2008 totalling more than £265,000. Two other companies claimed Murray owed them a total of £215,000.
The Jackson job appeared to offer troubled Murray the chance of financial salvation… in fact he was to fall even further.

Lawsuit to Block Payment to Doc
A cardiology equipment company has filed a lawsuit against MSNBC and others, claiming the network should pay off a debt Dr. Conrad Murray owes them before the doctor gets a red cent for his participation in the documentary.
Digirad Imaging Solutions is a California company that obtained a $147,075 judgment against Murray because he didn’t pay his bills.
Digirad claims MSNBC, Zodiak Media Group — the producer of the documentary — and others might be paying Murray for the documentary, and Digirad wants its cut from the defendants before they pay the doc.

Lynette, your idea about “diversion” by Klein’s employees is very interesting. I recall that the pages in those records with the biggest doses of Demerol were all filled out by someone else – not Klein. Klein said he was away from the office at that time (on holiday or something like that) and that Michael was treated by others in his absence. If it was a “diversion” it could explain why the records cited the biggest doses exactly while Klein was absent.

I don’t believe Michael was trying to “treat” his psychological pain with pain killers. I believe that MIchael was in emotional/psychological and physical pain. Michael tried many ways to deal with his issues, including seeking spiritual guidance. There’s not a one stop solution to these kinds of things. Healing takes time, years; it takes as long as it did for the person to be hurt in the first place.

You can see, from your POV, outside of the situation the amount of hate and ignorance that is perpetuated against Michael still, after his death. Now imagine being on the receiving end of that. Imagine it directed at you. It hurts. Every. Single. Time.
I don’t see the reason, IMHO, to think that Michael was a man with no problems and no pain. First of all, even the happiest of us have our down days, but this is a man who was persecuted for the last 20 years of his life, that’s the emotional part; this is also a man who lived a very isolated life, because of his fame, that is another component; he is also a man who suffered from a number of physical ailments, so all of that has to be accounted for; it’s the big picture. Throw in his lost childhood, the childhood abuse — these not the kind of things that are like water rolling over a person’s back.
Especially not Michael, who was so very sensitive. It takes years to heal.

I question whether or not MJ recieved that Demerol that was written in the nurses notes presented at the trial.That is what they were they are not the medical records of Klein.Like I said I question whether or not he recieved it for 2 reasons.One no Demerol was found in his system or the metabolite.They took hair samples from Michael in late August or early September for toxicology examination and those results were never released with the autopsy report or in court.If they showed Demerol use in the months leading up to his death and the would,they would have been used in the defense to present reasonable doubt because that is all they needed. They were not so I have to assume that Demerol was not on the hair samples.They took 3 sample from different areas of Michael’s head.
What do I think happened to the Demerol?As I said before the reason that these drugs are schedule 2 is not only because of the addictablity of them it is because of the high likelyhood of diversion.Diversion is where someone an employee takes the Demerol and uses it themselves or takes it to the street and sells it. I think it was Klein diverting for a friend or another patient.I have one question what do the records of his other patients show.Did he give everyone Demerol for similar proceedures? The requirements for documenting the use of a schedule 2 drug are not failproof.A person with access to them can figure out ways that temporarily work to get them they just have to make it look like it went somewhere else.
Walgren asked about the records that were provided in court to Dr. Walden and he even stated that if he went strictly by the what was given according to those records he would have to say that Michael was not addicted.I will correct that statement because at one point Michael used prescription pain medication.It is entirely possible at the time of his death that Michael was in fact in remission which is what it is now called.

@Lynette – I spoke about Klein just now, on the other thread about Murray’s conviction. I was going to put up the same link you did. I also mentioned Klein using alias’s to prescribe medication for Michael.
Even more egregious to me is Klein continuing to perform plastic surgery on Michael, giving him Demerol, knowing he had a history of addiction to the substance, and trying to justify that enabling behavior.
Klein, IMO, is another doctor who exploited and abused Michael, and was no friend to him.

MPORTANT – Just spoke to Judge Pastor’s office regarding the MSNBC airing of Murray documentary –
Was told:
The Judge is well aware of the situation with the Conrad Murray Documentary.
The law does state that a felon can not profit from their crime after conviction and incarceration.
HOWEVER, If the terms of the documentary’s purchase where completed prior to end of his trial then there is no law to prevent it. Murray negotiated his deal while he was still presumed innocent therefore, it’s entirely legal.
I said, “So he got around the law.:” Answer, “Yes”
…This makes it even more disgusting. Murray understood the ramifications of negotiating PRIOR to conviction.

ameera I owe you an apology.I have since read a complete rundown of Arnold Klein and have to say you are completely right.My mistake was in not paying any attention to his ridiculous statement because I thought they were ridiculous.If he was writing prescriptions in other peoples names to give to his friend what makes us think he wasn’t doing this with Michael.Because the Demerol was not in existance in his blood found at autopsy I think Klein was diverting it. I think he was writing down that he was giving it to Michael and he was giving it to someone else, namely because of his behavior,himself.Doctors do this all the time believe me. They are one of the largest populations that are addicted to prescription pain killers,the doctors themselves. I think they should check the records of all of his patients. Who knows who he was writing them to and who he was giving them to.It also explains his willingness to go along with Pfeiffer’s story of Pfeiffer knew what he was really doing.
I have discussed this with gator girl and we thought the same thing.When I was conversing with him on Twitter I encouraged him to deny the allegations that MJ was an addict because of the trial. Klein’s behavior in the last 2 years in all of his interviews is bizarre to say the very least. At this point I think that someone should drug test him. That would certainly explain his behavior and willingness to talk trash about Michael whenever and where ever he could.I have some reading for everyone because this blogger has put together Kleins interviews and behavior in one blog post.

It’s a puzzle. Sometimes ignoring is best, but sometimes you have to stand up and say exactly what is wrong and why.
No, I didn’t realize Tom was there. He is a true gentleman, and I just love his impartiality. Even when commenting on the case, he always spoke with respect about the defense, siting that they were just doing their job and would do the best that they could.
Of course, I don’t believe they could have ever gotten Murray off, not in a million years. I agree with you about the documentary. It does not surprise me at all. Murray’s statement in court was self-serving, it will be more of the same, and the fact that t.v. networks are biting at the bit to air it is more of the same, too. More of their immorality and perverse exploitation for money. Michael has always been for sale. Exploited in life; exploited in death. It is a very sad truth.

Yes it is true that to refute it someone has to watch it.I intend to watch and record it for that purpose.The best way to show the world how worthless this man is that is featured in this documentary is to show exactly what his many lies are.We are once again within minutes of a victory in this case faced with vindicating Michael because of Murrays criminal and morally corrupt behavior.I am not surprised by this documentary or his self serving self aggrandizing behavior.You’re right who needs to defend themselves before it is even determined that they have commited a crime.

Ameera yes they started it in November of 2009 and the interview with Savannah Guthrie was done on October 30th with Murray.That is probably when they clinched the deal with NBC.I saw the cllips of his interview and probably the one that is the most horrendous is his rendition of Alberto Alverez being guilty of not calling 911.Does he forget that he is on that 911 tape and can be heard in the background? I think in light of things we should get ready for a good fact check of Conrad Murrays documentary because NBC definitely plans to air it.

@Dialdancer Yes it is true that Michael or the estate cannot sue but if Murray implicates Alberto Alverez in the film he is commiting slander because he was found guilty in court and Alberto Alverez was not.It can reasonably be assumed by a judge or another jury that one jury found him to be lying in the death case.If he says Alberto Alverez’s name and implies or worse directly states that he was the cause of Michael’s death that is slander. I think someone should let Alberto know this so he can prepare a lawsuit.He has already suffered financial hardship because of Murray and it is time for him to seek compensation for that hardship.Once the networks got involved and a production company there is more money to be had in the event that he sues.

No one from the Estate can stop it legally. Only if Michael’s image is used without permission or if there is something which was done during the Gag Order would it be illegal. Financial or social clout might be able to, but that is left up the the whims of the buyers and how much external support they can muster. All the Media knew of this “documentary” for at least a year. Harvey Levin reported on it in Dec 2009 where it was later reported on by 3 small entertainment media sites. TMZ facilitated in this last minute notification ambush, they removed all trace their report from their site. To my way of thinking TMZ was rewarded for keeping quiet by receiving their first peek of the video.
Only Michael can dispute anything Murray decides to say and he is not here and only Michael could have brought legal action against Murray and others involved, not his heirs nor Estate can legally touch these people as there is no law in California to protect Michael and any other who are dead against defamation.

I suspect the only people that has the clout and the legal right to stop the broadcast is the michael jackson estate or his mother and his children because of time constraign.

Kaarin, to me it does not matter whether he did or didn’t take the stand in court. What matters is that he was given a chance to tell his lies there but chose not to.
Giving him a chance to tell his lies to a huge public AFTERWARDS is an indescribable lenience to a convicted criminal. His lies will go unchallenged all over the world – from the US to Australia. They will be accompanied by compassionate voiceovers and pictures of his 7 (or how many of them) children. Fatherless children. Poor doctor. Terrible Michael who was the cause of these children’s poor fate. And on top of it Murray’s lies, lies and lies…… Why is he allowed to tell them at all? He had his chance to tell them in court and since he didn’t use it why let him speak now?
Or is a conviction a sort of a permission to slander the poor victim of the convicted criminal?
All this is just a farce and an offense to justice.

Lynette, I am not disputing his right to keep silent in court – I am highly doubting his right to speak after the court and after his conviction. He will tell lies after lies and these lies are planned to be broadcast several times a week over several channels and will go unchallenged.
People are underestimating this type of propaganda if they think that it will do no harm. The harm will be enormous. It will create the impression of him being a victim of unjust prosecution.
His criminal negligence and his lies are what he was convicted for – and now they are going to popularize both his crime and his lies?
It is simply beyond my comprehension.

From the clip I saw this morning on the Today Show, it appears that Savannah Guthrie is doing the actual interview with Murray, and guess who she is friendly with ….. Diane Dimond, who refers to her as Saavy. I googled Dimond’s twitter account and she frequently has tweets to Guthrie.

Does anyone know how much was paid for this documentary.The only reason I ask is because with his guilty verdict also comes the possibility of fines and costs to the prosecution in the case.Judge Pastor could impose up to I believe a $10 K fine and costs which could be in the millions.My guess is he does and he probably knew about this documentary before the verdict so he has a plan for that money is my guess.
The ones to boycott are the networks advertisers that promote the program.To do that we first have to find out who they are and pressure them to pull their advertising.If they do then the documentary produces no income for the network and it will not be picked up or replayed in syndication.That will severely limit the royalties that the producer and Murray or his legal team might incur over time and make it profitless to air. If they can play anything for money they better not play with anyone that understands business like an MJ fan.

At least we now know who had been funding murray’s lifestyle before and during trial,the people that produces this documentary must have giving him advance payment and promises of more if and when the documentary is picked up.besides i tought a convicted felon can not profit from his crime.

VMJ,I know why he would not take the stand in court.He would have to perjure himself if he somehow tried to justify himself, He is an adept liar,his second nature, I really hope he will be put in jail and not house arrest.The house arrest is an issue here too,mainly for economic reasons.It is very expensive to keep someone in jail. Murray has made a mockery of our best scientists,the legal system and all that is still decent in the society.Sent some e-mails to addresses given.This post has detailed every information re the trial.The media blatantly disregard it.It is “anything for money” again.

He had his opportunity to speak and decided not to which was his right.Considering this is nothing more than a puff piece on what a wonderful guy Murray is I believe that the masses have figured that one out for themselves.
It is also important to know that his sentence is determined by Judge Pastor and no one else.He will be given guidelines by the probation investigation and he will go by those.Murray’s fate is secured.I think he will see jail time myself for other things that could be taken into consideration like yesterday.He is considered a threat to public safety by the police and the courts because of public reaction to the verdict.I think Judge Pastor put him in jail for his own safety,the safety of the crowds out in the street and the safety of the LAPD to prevent any kind of mishap that might occur.Tempers may have gotten out of control and it was wise to place him in custody and it would be wise to keep him in custody.For those reasons it might be safer for all if he does sit out his sentence.It isn’t like he could ever again be a productive member of society here in the US.He was branded yesterday as the man that stopped being a doctor and killed the greatest entertainer that ever lived using the skills he had learned as a doctor.
His name is forever meshed with Michael’s and he will never ever have peace in his life if he does not pay the price that is required by law for taking that life.His only redemption now is to pay that price and go to jail.He took a life, 4 years of his should be the smallest requirement of him if there is ever going to be rehabillitation.You cannot expect that he would understand the gravity of what he did without punishment and there should be grave consequences for ending another persons life.So far everthing from him shouts that he does not take any responsibility for his actions.Rehabilitation is about accepting the consquences of his actions and facing the responsibility that he owes society a measure of himself in exchange for his deadly actions.It isn’t like he is facing a death penalty four years is a small amount and not practicing medicine again should be accepted by him.It is the least that he should offer for taking a life.If he does not it is entirely possible that Murray would be just as careless when it mattered to someone else.When it mattered to another individual that is close to some unnamed, uninvolved person, completely unrelated to Michael.It is because it’s only the first time that someone like him gets caught that is the hard part after that no one else matters.Murray should go to jail just for his own good and to redeem himself and his profession.

Kaarin, there is one more aspect to it. If he had told his lies in court he would have been held accountable for them – because lying under oath could exacerbate his case. And now – if he ever talks in this documentary – he will be able to tell his lies without any punishment at all.
In short if they ever allow this to happen it will be a total mockery at the judicial system.

Lies of Murray:I gave him 25 mgs of propofol.The science(see Dr.Shafers testimony)on 6/25 2009, he infused Michael with c.2062.5 mgs of Propofol.
Something only used in deep anestesia during major surgery.
That is more than 82 times the amout he claims he gave.His lies are of the same magnitude.
Murray is a slick talker and a psychopath.What did he tell all those different women he impregnated and went on to the next.7 children by 6 women.

Yes, VMJ, this ought to be illegal. Murray being a proven liar, a coward not speaking out in court, the only legal and correct platform he was offered. He rejected it for reasons everyone knows. He has fed the public one tall story after another and that comes so naturally to him.The doctor-patient realationship with confidentiality being a cornerstone does not stop by killing your patient. He is mocking our best scientists,the legal system and all principles of a good society,appealing to the lowest instincts. And the media are looking forward to the feast of slander of Michael Jackson again.
If, and when he goes for appeal this, if anything,needs to be held agaist him.He ia a parasite of Michael ,but calls himself a friend! To me this is a paradox.

I wonder if what these media outlets are doing is legitimate at all? If all convicted criminals had a chance to popularize their side of the story through TV and the press it would be a total insult to the judicial system!
Murray has not yet even been put into jail and he is allowed to tell something which totally contradicts the findings in his criminal case!
After all he is not telling us of his childhood years or romantic adventures – no, he is going to promote his version of the events for which he was convicted in court! A person should first answer for the crime he committed and after he serves a term can probably tell his story – but not immediately after conviction and before he goes to jail!
What the media is actually allowing him to do now is TELL HIS STORY UNCHALLENGED.
If he had related it in court over there he would have been cross-examined by prosecution, his lies would have been debunked. But he chose to keep silent in court but tells his lies here – where they will simply go undisputed!
Is there any way to bring this problem to some judicial body which will immediately take action? I think that LAW SHOULD HAVE ITS SAY HERE.
